    Wednesday Hodgepodge

I’m linking up with Joyce at From This Side Of The Pond today.  Click on that button to join us!

    1. How many students were in your high school graduating class? Did you know most, if not all of them?

It was around 525 and I would say that I knew most of them at least by name though a few people I felt I’d never seen before did cross the stage on graduation day.

    2. What was the last thing you photographed?

My toes in the sand on my mini-getaway over Memorial Day.  I am never more relaxed than when I am sitting in a beach chair with my feet in the sand and a body of water in front of me.

    3. Pickles-love ‘em or loathe ‘em? If its love what’s something you eat that needs a pickle?

Dill pickles = love.  Sweet pickles = loathe.  I don’t think a good burger tastes complete without several slices of dill pickle on it although pickled jalapenos will do in a pinch.

    4. What’s a stereotype you seem to perpetuate without meaning to?
Women should be barefoot and in the kitchen.  I can’t help it.  I like to cook and I don’t like shoes.  Note that I’ve managed to get past the “pregnant” part though. :)

    5. Ever been horse back riding? If so is it something you enjoy? If not, do you have any interest? Did you watch the Kentucky Derby? Will you be watching the last leg of the Triple Crown this weekend?
We own a horse, Jamboree, and I used to ride her often, but it’s actually been a couple of years since I’ve been on her now.  It turns out that I only like it when she walks.  More than a short bit of trotting or cantering is uncomfortable.
I don’t watch horse racing because I know a few race horses personally.  I’ve seen enough bad accidents on TV that I can’t bear the thought of these animals I know and care for ending up like that and now that dread has spread to all race horses.  That being said, I love to watch a Thoroughbred run.  Jamboree used to have a turn out buddy who was a retired race horse, “Runaway,” and watching the two of them gallop around the arena was a sight to behold.  Runaway would stretch out in an amazing display of speed and grace while Jamboree on her short Quarter Horse legs did her best to keep up.  It was nearly like watchin two entirely different animals.
    6. What’s your favorite ‘wedding’ movie?
I can’t think of a favorite right now.  I don’t watch enough chick flicks I guess.

    7. What is one ‘tourist attraction’ in the USA that you’d like to see in person?
I’m pretty fortunate that my parents took us on a lot of vacations when we were growing up.  I’ve been to D.C. numerous times, seen the Grand Canyon, Disney World, the California redwoods, Nashville … we got around.  Rich and I have taken the kids a few places as well.  I guess the only place I haven’t really been is NYC, so I’ll just say the whole city!
    8. Insert your own random thought here.

At the suggestion of my sister, I watched “Duck Dynasty” with Faith last night.  I don’t know when I have laughed so hard.  We went through all seven episodes that were On Demand - and watched the RV episode twice.  If you need to laugh, go look it up.  That’s seriously funny stuff there.

You are oh-so-right about pickles. And how did you know what many people in high school?! My class was a couple hundred larger, but I certainly didn't know 500 of them!

Duck Dynasty is a treasure. :)

I'm with you on barefoot in the kitchen! I also love sand under my bare feet!!

    Welcome to Wednesday Hodgepodge!
I like your barefoot in the kitchen minus the pregnant part. I love to cook and hate shoes too.

I second Megan. I wondered when it's ok for us to start being concerned that you haven't posted for over a week.

In regards to your most recent post (just after this), sometimes just knowing that others are concerned about us is enough to help somewhat. I hope that whatever it is you're currently going through makes for a better tomorrow.
